Personalize the story, not just the name
A useful personalized story starts with something your child recognises: a favourite game, a familiar worry or a place they are about to visit. Give the hero a few recognisable details, then build one adventure around that situation.
An example for a first day at preschool
The hero is Maya, age four, with short curly hair and a yellow backpack. She is excited about preschool but worried about saying goodbye. Tell a warm story in which she meets one friend and discovers a painting corner. Keep the ending reassuring and the sentences short.
- Use a photo or describe a few distinctive details. The result is a stylised illustration, so review the likeness rather than expecting an exact photographic copy.
- Include an interest or routine alongside the child's appearance. A favourite toy or familiar goodbye ritual gives the story something personal to work with.
- Check every page before sharing it with a child. Look for name spelling, confusing text and visual differences between pages; AI output can need revision.
