Willa and the Firefly

Willa lifted her lantern. Golden light spilled across the moss.

The fox stood on its paws. It wanted to follow.

'Wait!' Willa whispered. The fox's tail twitched.

Willa reached out. The firefly landed on her fingertip.

The firefly sneezed! A cloud of golden sparkles floated up.

The fox purred so loudly the leaves shook.

Willa and the fox stepped forward together.

The path ahead shimmered with firefly light. The forest glowed — just for them.
