Lulu walks to the Great Blooming Tree. No flowers bloom here. The wind whispers through dry branches.

Lulu frowns. She touches a gray twig. The bark feels rough like old stone.

She carries a wooden bucket. Water flows from the spout onto the dry earth. A soft swish sound rises from the soil.

She hums a soft tune. Nothing changes yet. But she doesn’t stop.

Lulu pulls out two shiny acorns. She drops them near the roots. A squirrel watches from a high branch.

She presses the dirt down with her palm. The acorns disappear into the soil.

She places a drawing on the bark. The paper sticks like magic. 'It will grow,' she thinks.

A tiny green shoot pushes through the dirt. Then another! They tremble in the breeze.
