Leo stepped onto the big yellow bus. His paws stuck slightly to the vinyl seat. He clutched his juice box tight.
Leo walked into the classroom, eyes on the floor. A blue crayon rolled under a table. He took a step backward.
Leo hid behind a tall plant. The rabbit offered a carrot. Leo shook his head quickly.
The teacher sang about sharing. The rabbit sat nearby, ears drooping. Leo looked at his juice, then at the rabbit.
Leo unscrewed the cap with a pop. He held it out. The rabbit giggled softly.
They drank side-by-side. Leo smiled. The noise faded into a happy hum.
