Denucci's was busy. The rainbow freezers glowed behind the counter.
Kaelyn scooped and smiled. Ring! Ring! Ring! The tip jar climbed higher.
Ring! But nobody came in. Then — a small voice at the door.
"I forgot my favorite flavor," he whispered. "Will I miss out today?"
Kaelyn searched — chocolate, vanilla, strawberry — then spotted it. Golden mango!
She scooped. One ball, then another — but oh no, it wobbled! Kaelyn caught it.
One lick. Then a huge grin. He handed her a five-dollar bill and ran out!
Kaelyn set the bill on the jar. She picked up a cone and waited for the next customer.
