Esra and Her Brother

I heard laughter. I walked toward the sound.

A boy held up a red ball. His eyes sparkled.

He offered me the ball. I reached out and touched it.

I gave it a little push. It bounced once!

The ball rolled toward the rug. He giggled and picked it up.

I tried again. I pushed harder this time.

The ball hit the curtain and bounced back into my hands!

I threw the ball high. We both fell onto the soft cushions and laughed together.
