Eli climbed onto the rug. The sun was warm.
Eli opened the big book.
Grandmother read the book.
Eli pointed at the sheep. 'Baa,' he said.
He pointed again and again.
Eli turned the page. A boat floated on blue water.
He touched the water. 'Swish,' he whispered.
Grandmother read about sharing bread.
Eli looked at his hands.
He touched Grandmother's hand. She squeezed back.
Eli opened the book by himself.
Eli rested his head on Grandmother's lap. He closed his eyes.
