The sun warmed the meadow pond. Wildflowers nodded beside the still water.

Daisy waddled down the grassy bank. She tilted her head and peered at her reflection.

A tiny frog bounced from lily pad to lily pad. Hop, flop, splash — right into the pond!

He landed with a soft plop beside her. His wide green eyes looked right up at Daisy.

Daisy quacked and dipped her head underwater. When she popped back up, the frog was on her!

He sat on her back like a tiny captain. 'Take me somewhere nice!' he croaked.

She splashed and he giggled. A dragonfly zoomed past — circle, zoom, circle.

They leaped together into the cool water. Splash! A rainbow caught the droplets in the air.

Daisy shook her feathers dry. The frog hopped once, twice, three times onto a floating leaf.

She rested beside the leafy patch. Her friend sat quietly on its edge.

Willow branches dipped into the still water. The afternoon sun painted everything gold.

A butterfly landed softly on Daisy's beak. Then it fluttered away into the wildflowers.
